Natalie Bibby

Natalie began her career at Metropolis Studios, where she spent nearly a decade developing a distinctive mastering style that bridges traditional techniques with a modern perspective. With a background in mixing, she intuitively connects with artists and their creative intent, and is dedicated to delivering masters that bring their music to the world with clarity, impact, and emotional depth. A recent career highlight includes mastering the official soundtrack for the BBC’s hugely popular TV series Riot Women.

She is one of the very few engineers worldwide to cut vinyl on a Neumann VMS-80 lathe, with a particular passion for the rare craft of half-speed cutting. Her mastering and cutting credits span a wide range of artists, including Kraftwerk, Wolf Alice, Lola Young, Sammy Virji, Suzanne Vega, The Orb, GIRLI, and CATTY. Since joining AIR, Natalie has also expanded her work to include mastering for TV and film soundtracks, with credits for Sky and the BBC.

Natalie’s expertise has led her to deliver workshops and speak on panels both in the UK and internationally. Recent highlights include a world-class mastering workshop at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, teaching at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and a panel appearance at Music Expo in San Francisco.

She is especially committed to creating access points for women in audio, with the aim of helping to shift the gender imbalance in engineering for future generations. Natalie has delivered workshops and events in collaboration with Music Production for Women and We Are Moving The Needle.

Natalie is also trained in Dolby Atmos mixing and mastering, embracing immersive audio technologies alongside her analogue expertise. Beyond the studio, she serves as an Executive Director of the Music Producers Guild, advocating for and amplifying the voices of producers, engineers, mixers, and mastering engineers across the industry.

Alongside her engineering career, Natalie also releases her own music in the dark ambient genre.
