Yair Elazar Glotman

Yair Elazar Glotman is a Berlin-based composer and multi-instrumentalist, originally trained as a classical orchestral contrabass player. That foundation in acoustic performance and the physicality of sound runs through everything he makes, whether working with an 80-piece orchestra, extended instrumental techniques, or analog and digital processing.

Most recently, Glotman composed the original score for director Louis Leterrier’s Netflix sci-fi thriller The Last House, starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura.  Previous credits include the Netflix thriller Reptile, starring Benicio del Toro, and A24’s False Positive.

A close working relationship with the late composer Jóhann Jóhannsson became one of the formative partnerships of his career. Glotman co-composed the score for Jóhannsson’s own directorial feature film Last and First Men, and contributed additional music to his score for Panos Cosmatos’ Mandy. He has also contributed to major productions for other composers, including the Academy Award–winning scores for Joker and All Quiet on the Western Front.

Beyond film, Glotman is a solo recording artist signed to Decca Publishing, releasing music under his own name and as KETEV, his experimental project, with work appearing on Deutsche Grammophon and Bedroom Community. His practice extends to visual art, dance, and multidisciplinary performance, including a soundtrack design for the Royal Opera House in London.
