John Prestage
Profile
John joined AIR in 2011 and, since Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar in 2014, has developed an exceptional reputation for speed and precision as a Pro Tools recordist and score editor, regularly working with the likes of Zimmer, James Newton Howard and John Powell.
He is also in demand as a score engineer and mixer, recently co-producing and mixing Blair Mowat’s BAFTA nominated and Camille winning score to Nolly for ITVX. Outside of visual media, he regularly records and mixes a wide range of music, especially jazz, including Tom Smith’s 2025 big band album “A Year In The Life”.
Before joining AIR, John worked at Rockfield and other studios on the Welsh border under the mentorship of producer and engineer Matt Butler and gained a degree in physics and musical performance (trumpet), jointly at Imperial College London and the Royal College of Music.
