Melissa Parmenter

Profile
Melissa Parmenter is a pianist, composer and BAFTA-nominated film and TV producer.
In 2020 she released her critically acclaimed mini-album ‘Messapica’, a beautifully crafted fusion of piano and cello, which received support from the likes of Classic FM, Scala Radio, The Line of Best Fit and Edith Bowman’s Soundtracking podcast. Her most recent release, the ‘North Sea’ EP, saw her reunite with cellist and BAFTA-nominated MRKR composer, Harry Escott, for a captivating meditation on the UK’s East Coast.
Working alongside director Michael Winterbottom and with the team at Revolutions Films, she has produced many acclaimed films and television shows such as The Road to Guantanamo, Greed, The Tripwith Steve Coogan & Rob Brydon, This England, starring Kenneth Branagh, and Shoshana which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in 2023.
Her passion for music and film culminates in scores for films including Genova, starring Colin Firth and Catherine Keener, and The Killer Inside Me, starring Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson, alongside her other long-term musical collaborator, Joel Cadbury.
A brilliant and experienced pianist, her performances mix her intoxicating classical works alongside her vivacious personality. Very much a visual person, Parmenter’s headline shows are brought to life with immersive artwork and projections developed in collaboration with Norfolk artists Sinead and Alastair Gray.
