FTP Server
The server is located at AIR Studios, your files are physically as safe as master tapes.
Unique username and password are assigned for secure access to files.
File size unlimited but charges are based on total usage.

Recommended software:
      FTP Client: Fetch (Mac) or WS_ftp (PC)
      File Compression: StuffIt (Mac) or WinZip (PC)

IMPORTANT! All mac files MUST be "stuffed" before they are transfered to the FTP server. If not file information contained within the hidden "resource fork" will be lost. This will render the files unuseable. We recommend setting the compression to "None" for audio files as time taken outweighs the size reduction.

Audio over the Internet
To date the quality obtained with real-time audio over the Internet is only sufficient for low quality monitoring of a session. It is not good enough for remote recording, critical auditioning or approval purposes. In particular the quality to the USA suffers due to Internet congestion. However we have found the following systems succesful for low importance monitoring.

QuickTime Broadcasting allows a single point-to-point real-time transfer of audio and video.
It requires a Mac or PC on an ADSL (or better) connection, with a public IP. You will need to tell us the IP address before the session. We then email you a "token" that grants access to the stream. It will not work if the remote computer is behind a firewall or router.

iChat AV allows two Macs to communicate with audio and video. We can provide and setup the equipment on your Mac. It does require that you have a .mac or aol account as both parties have to connect through their services. The apple .mac account provides the greatest compatibility.

PolySpan IP Conferencing requires dedicated hardware by Polycom. It uses the Internet to go point-to-point between two video conferencing units. It will not work if the either unit is behind a firewall or router.
