AIR Studios - Technical - Analogue

Analogue recording is alive and well at AIR. Each music studio has a two Studer 24-track 2" tape machines. Three A800 MkIII, one MkI and two A827. AIR has owned all from new keeping, them in perfect working order for over 20 years (in the MkI's case). For the very best sound quality we also have a 16-track head-block.

For the ultimate 2-track 1/2" master we have four Ampex ATR100s. Again kept in prime condition, after 25+ years these are still the standard by which all recorders are judged.

Every machine on your session is lined-up and checked by technical staff every single day before you arrive. Our engineers are still trained in editing tapes directly. Analogue is still very much in favour here at AIR Studios.
