Tom began his engineering career as an assistant at Livingston Studios training under ex-Abbey Road engineer Jerry Boys. Most of this time was spent working on Cuban and Malian music releases for the label World Circuit. This included work by artists such as Ibrahim Ferrer, Ali Farke Touré, Toumani Diabate and Cheik Lo.
After a spell at Jacobs Studios Tom moved to Strongroom/Air and has worked extensively with producer/engineer Ken Thomas on projects including the 'M83' album 'Saturdays = Youth' and the Mercury nominated 'Maps' album. 2007 also saw Tom working on a wide range of mixing projects including the Rufus Wainwright album 'Release The Stars' and the second album from The Guillemots, 'Red'.
More recently Tom has been mixing tracks for the forthcoming Cagedbaby album as well as working on projects with Lisa Hannigan, Teddy Thompson and Kylie. During 2008 and 2009 Tom has also worked extensively with Joby Talbot on a range of film scores including Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
